Our Story
About the Bride
Megan grew up in Hanover, Ontario.
She was part of the first French Immersion class and attended James
A Magee Community
School. She spent her teenage
years at John Diefenbaker Secondary School (JDSS). Megan and her younger sister Lindsay remember spending much of their childhood years camping and fishing
with their dad, vacationing with the family, dancing up a “storm” in the kitchen, and of course fighting and bickering.
Megan attended the University
of Waterloo where she received her Bachelor of Psychology, and went on to post-grad
studies at Georgian College in Barrie to receive her diploma in Human Resources Management. She is currently the Employment Resource Centre Co-ordinator at the Family YMCA Employment Services in
Walkerton.
Megan and Drew decided to move back to Grey County after
school was all over to relax and thoroughly enjoy the advantages of living in a small community, surrounded by friends and
family.
Drew grew up on his family’s dairy farm just
outside of Hanover. He has an older sister, Dawn Marie,
that currently lives in China, and a brother,
Daryl, that lives across the road from him. Drew remembers spending much of his
childhood and teenage years working on the farm with his father, breaking farm equipment, and injuring himself.
Drew
attended Fanshawe College to receive his
diploma in accounting and went on to receive his Bachelor of Business Studies at the University
of Windsor.
He spends his spare time farming, watching football,
breathing football, playing football, renovating the house, and hanging out with Megan.
He currently works in the finance department at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre in Walkerton and is building a beef
farm in Bentinck.
How We Met
While at a party with her good friend Dawn Taylor in Grade 12, Megan met Drew. Although that was over 8 years ago, she can still remember the party like it was yesterday…
Drew was sure that the “pick-up” lines he received from Jason Emke would definitely
impress her...looks like it worked out afterall.
